Mr. Jones Memorial Smash Ultimate Duos Tournament
Free practice sessions will take place from now till the start of the tournament. Once you play as a team, you can sign up for the tournament. Playing once as a team gets you the invitation to sign your team up.
Sign-up once per team. If you have multiple entries/are listed on multiple teams, you will be waitlisted from the tournament.
Sign-ups end September 12th. The tournament will start at lunch on Wednesday, September 17.
Standard game settings
Stocks: 3 per player.Time: 5 minutes.
Items: Off and none.
Final Smash Meter: Off.
Spirits: Off.
Stage Hazards: Off.
Team Attack: On. This is a crucial rule for competitive doubles as it prevents players from abusing certain strategies and forces teamwork.
Stock Sharing: Allowed, meaning a teammate can take a stock from their partner.
Pausing: Off, or restricted to prevent players from gaining an unfair advantage. A player who pauses mid-match may lose a stock.
Damage Ratio/Handicap: 1.0x/Off.
Stages: Battlefield, Final Destination, Pokémon Stadium 2, Smashville, Town and City, Small Battlefield
128 Team Max.
Three matches per switch per day.
Gameplay
If you are scheduled to play Match 1, you must be ready and in C107 by 11:43
If you are scheduled to play Match 2, you must be ready and in C107 by 11:50
If you are scheduled to play Match 3, you must be ready and in C107 by 11:58
If you are late/absent, the game will be forfeit. If your teammate is a no-show, you play a 1v2. Mr. Register will settle all disputes.
Conduct and disqualifications
Sportsmanship: All participants are expected to be respectful to opponents and tournament officials.
External interference: Any issues outside of the game, such as controller malfunction, can be addressed with a tournament organizer. However, players who intentionally interrupt play may be penalized.
Tardiness: Teams that are not present for their match at the designated time may face disqualification.
Collusion: Any attempt at match-fixing or bracket manipulation will result in disqualification and forfeiture of prizes.
